Contactless Checkout is possible with the Avery Dennison RFID undermount reader. As a customer places their basket of RFID-tagged items on top of the checkout counter, the RFID undermount reader, which is secured underneath the checkout counter, automatically reads the contents in the customer’s basket. The customer never has to take out the individual items from the basket. The undermount reader communicates with the retailer’s POS software to capture the appropriate purchases and charge accordingly.
